King Charles III Coronation Medal

The Coronation Medal was created to mark the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, which took place on May 6, 2023.

In 2024, 30,000 deserving individuals will be recognized for their contributions to Canada or to a particular province, territory or community, or for their outstanding achievement abroad that has brought great credit to our country. As a Nominating Partner, I have been given 5 medals to award, and I am happy to have this chance to recognise those in our community who exemplify this award’s values.

Eligibility and Selection Process

The Governor General has outlined some eligibility requirements for the medal. To be eligible for this honour, a person must:

  • have made a significant contribution to Canada or to a particular province, territory, region of, or community in, Canada, or attained an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada; and
  • have been alive on May 6, 2023, the date of The King’s Coronation.

Additionally, I will be focusing our efforts on recognising those within our riding of Kingston and the Islands, and those who have until now received little in the way of formal honours for their achievements.

A volunteer committee composed of distinguished members of our community has been established in order to review and independently decide on received nominations. Nominees, committee members and their deliberations will remain confidential.

Nominate an Individual

We are no longer accepting nominations as of August 29th, 2024.

I would like to thank those that have contributed to a remarkable list of nominees from within our community. Recipients of the award will be notified in the coming months.
